A Hospital’s Journey Toward Accountable Care – Year One Results
Out-of-control healthcare costs are not news, but reversing the trend and spending less than you did before is big news. That's what we helped a Massachusetts hospital client accomplish in the first year of their journey toward accountable care. This self-insured hospital had double-digit increases in costs in nine out of ten years between 2000 and 2010 and attempts to control costs were clearly not working. Through the Wellness Department, employees were offered biometric screening and incentives were provided for health risk assessments.
