The Future of Value Based Insurance Design

The goal of Value-Based Insurance Design (VBID) is to align patients' out of pocket costs with the value of the health services provided to them. It allows heathcare payers to shape their plans to incentivize use of low-cost/high-value services and discourage high-cost/low-value treatments. This increases patient compliance and lowers overall cost to the insurer. The key to this savings is mining and analyzing the data that help shape benefits design.
