Higher Ed, Higher Health Costs: Strategies for Taking on the Healthcare Challenge
The rising cost of healthcare benefits is one of the most challenging issues facing higher education human resource professionals today. With budget pressures increasing and traditional patterns of employment shifting, how can higher education institutions deliver health benefits that effectively attract and retain top talent?
On April 11, 2016 we brought together a select group of decision makers to discuss how higher education HR is navigating a treacherous healthcare landscape. Attendees heard presentations from higher education industry leaders such as Mary Opperman, Chief Human Resources Officer at Cornell University and healthcare industry leaders such as Laurel Pickering, CEO of the Northeast Business Group on Health. We also featured a panel of experts in the healthcare sector that provided innovations to impact employer plans. Representatives on the panel joined us from organizations such as AtlantiCare Health Solutions, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Adventist HealthCare, and Conifer Health Solutions.
